El Kef

Al-Kaf (الكاف), is one of those cities that has preserved the essence of the most authentic Tunisia. Located in the northwest of the country, very close to the Algerian border, this historic town rises amid an impressive mountain landscape, making it one of the most picturesque places in inland Tunisia.

It is located approximately 175 km northwest of Tunis, the capital of the country.

The drive takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, depending on the route and traffic, following the main road that connects Béja and Siliana.

Over the centuries, El Kef has witnessed the passage of many civilizations: Berbers, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines and Arabs all left their mark, shaping a city deeply rooted in the history of the Maghreb. Its most emblematic monument is the Kasbah of El Kef, an imposing fortress that dominates the town and offers spectacular views over the surrounding fields and mountains.
